Hurricane Field Program Update — Thursday, September 12, 2019, 9pm EDT

NOAA42 is scheduled for an EMC-tasked mission into Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine , takeoff from Lakeland at 1700 EDT (2100 UTC), returning there just about 5 hours later.  The goal is to gather Doppler radar and dropwindsonde data for assimilation into numerical models.  One-per-day flights are likely to continue until the system is no longer a threat to the U. S. coastline.
