NOAA’s G-IV is ready to fly a synoptic surveillance mission around Tropical Storm Matthew

The G-IV is scheduled for a synoptic surveillance mission today with a take-off time of 1:30PM (1730 UTC) from MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. The hurricane hunter aircraft will target Matthew and the mid-level ridge/upper-level trough well north of the storm. The jet will land in St. Croix. Below is the proposed flight pattern. The dots flight track indicate the dropsonde launch locations.
