On Saturday May 9th at 5 PM, Neal Dorst of the Hurricane Research Division addressed a dozen people at Books & Books in Coral Gables, reading excerpts from “Hurricane Pioneer: Memoirs of Bob Simpson”. The readings were preceded by a meeting of the Greater Miami chapter of the American Meteorological Society and was followed by a discussion with audience members about the contributions of Bob and Joanne Simpson in mentoring several generations of tropical meteorologists.
