HRD Director provides NOAA hurricane research overview at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, India – 11 February 2015

HRD Director Frank Marks visited Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Science to present an overview of NOAA’s Hurricane Research and to collaborate with Prof. U. C. Mohanty on a network proposal between HRD, IIT/Bhubaneswar, India Meteorological Department (IMD), EMC HWRF team, and Purdue University to develop a “Indo-US Joint Center for Advanced Modeling of Tropical Land-Atmosphere-Ocean System for Simulation of Extreme Weather Events” supported by the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF). Dr. Marks was also an invited guest at the IIT/Bhubaneswar Founders Day Ceremony celebrating the seventh anniversary of the founding of IIT/Bhubaneswar.
